The anime D.Gray-Man has come to an end after 103 episodes. I really liked the anime and because the anime I had started reading the manga. Though I they are both really good I prefer the manga more maybe because I began reading it when the Anime was in the Miranda Lotto saga. Though the anime had some filler episodes which would be better spend on the current storyline...
Though.. After nearly 2 years the anime has ended with a good ending (for me) I really wish they would bring out a movie or something because... I just need more! Here is some background info of D.Gray-Man
I got in contact with D.Gray-Man through a friend of mine. He told me to check it out because we just finished watching Fate/Stay Night also one of my favorites xD. So I got hooked and never stopped watching (\(n_n)/). What I really loved in the beginning was the story how it unfolded and the action looked neat. I loved the design of Allen, the eye his claw everything. Though it was sad when that kitten died (T_T) miss you neko-chan! But I also loved the idea of the Akumas. How it was all connected to each other the people that died and were needed by the living and how they all feeled the grief, the want to see them, speak to them or just hold them one more time. That's why the Millenium Earl is one of the best Villains for me because he uses people and makes them his weapon and he doesn't have to lift a finger because he also has the Noah clan. Smart little freak.D.Gray-man (ディーグレイマン) is an ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Katsura Hoshino. The series tells the story of a boy named Allen Walker who becomes able to use an ancient substance called Innocence, and becomes an exorcist in order to collect all the Innocence that is lost in the world alongside other exorcists and to defeat the Millennium Earl who possesses an army of dangerous creatures named Akuma. Many characters and their designs were adapted from some of Katsura Hoshino's previous works and drafts, such as Zone, and Continue, and her assistants.
The manga was first serialized in 2004 in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, published by Shueisha under their Jump Comics imprint and currently fifteen volumes have been released. There is also a novel series called Reverse, authored by Kaya Kizaki, that tells the characters' backgrounds. As of August 5, 2008, Viz Media has released the first ten volumes in the United States. The anime series aired from October 3, 2006 to September 30, 2008 in Japan for 103 episodes. Novels and video games of the series have also been released by several companies.
Later when you get introduced to the Order you see all new char whit their own quirks like Komui xD he's funny, the Branch Leader, Older Brother of Lenalee, an Exorcist like Allen. At first I liked Lenalee (her design) but her personality wasn't that great for me, later when you would see her in action in the Miranda Arc you get to learn more about her personality. And now after all those epis I really lover her personality because I share some of her views (I only care about the people around me and those outside my box just don't bother me, not to be cruel or uncaring but I can't trust people that easily). Also her fight with the Lvl 3 Akuma Eshi really made me exited xD. She really went all out and I just loved the entire process before and after. She really wanted help them in the Arc but she couldn't. Also her resolve is really admirable.
then we also have Kandaa Yuu XD he's badass and I really want to learn more about him because we know the least about him and he's there since the beginning! >.< Frustrating. Though I really love all the Exorcist the 4 that really interest me are; Allen, Lenalee, Klaud Nine (and Lau Jimin xD) and Lavi. Though from the Noah and Akuma I really love; Lulubell, Eliade and Mikk.
I will put up some character info so you will get into them ^.^/)
Allen Walker (アレン・ウォーカー) is the main protagonist of the series. Allen was abandoned by his biological parents because of the supposed "deformity" of his left arm and later adopted by Mana Walker. Later, Mana died and Allen turned him into an Akuma, hoping him to be fully resurrected. However, Mana cursed Allen, whose left arm first awakes as an anti-Akuma weapon and instinctively, destroys the Akuma. He fights for the souls of the Akuma and for his friends. As the story goes on, Allen slowly gains more power and has more and more painful experiences with Akuma.
Yu Kanda (神田 ユウ) is an 18-year-old Exorcist from Japan. Kanda is the first Exorcist that Allen meets at the black order HQ. He can recover much faster than ordinary humans due to a mysterious tattoo above his heart. He and Allen have an ongoing hate for each other. .
Lenalee Lee (リナリー・リー) is an Exorcist, whose parents were killed by an Akuma when she was very young. Due to her ability to use the Innocence, Lenalee was forced to become an Exorcist by the Black Order bosses to use her strength. However, her brother Komui decided to stay with her to not leave her alone. Therefore, she fights for her brother as well as her friends. Her perception of the "world" consists of her friends and family; whenever one of her friends dies, it seems to her as if a part of her world has been destroyed. But as the story goes on, Lenalee starts to become stronger and more reasonable.
Lavi (ラビ) is a cheerful 18 year old, red-haired Exorcist of mixed race, who aims to become a Bookman and is working along the Black Order just to be close to the events that must be seen. However, he is slowly becoming more attached to his Black Order friends, and his original Bookman self is constantly being clouded by his growing care for his friends.
Antagonists
The Millennium Earl/Sennen Hakushaku (千年伯爵) is the story's main antagonist. He is a sorcerer from long ago, and he plans to lead the world to its death. He tricks people who mourn for their dead relatives and friends into resurrecting them, turning them into Akuma that he can then control. The Earl resembles a grotesque caricature of a Victorian gentleman, a rotund figure in cape and top hat, with a perpetual enormous grin and pince-nez spectacles. Despite his intentions, he often displays a cheerful attitude. He also is shown to have a human form. as mentioned by another character. He is able to control Noah's Ark and has created a new one, intending to discard the old one when it falls into the possession of the Black Order.
The Noah Family (ノアの一族) consists of thirteen human descendants of Noah who have inherited his genes.[53][54] A Noah can be identified by a gray skin tone, yellow/gold eyes, and a horizontal line of seven cross-shaped markings referred to as holy marks. But just like Akuma creatures, they base their powers off dark matter, the opposite of Innocence, and are vulnerable to Innocence just as Innocence is vulnerable to dark matter.[55] They share an inborn drive to kill Exorcists, but are otherwise unique. "Carved" on their genes is a memory of Noah different from any member in their generation and posses a supernatural ability. If a member has died, this causes the Noah within to cry
Lulu Bell (ルル・ベル) is a blonde Noah representing the "Lust" of Noah. She appeared early in the anime-adaption and later in the manga series. As a Noah, her hair is black and she often appears as a black cat in the anime for spying purposes and retains various cat-like qualities as a human. Lulu Bell possesses the ability of metamorphosis referred to as the power of "Form" and is not limited to a solid state. She can also take on the appearance of others. After a failed attempt to infiltrate and retrieve the Akuma egg, she has yet to reappear in the series although she has survived the event.
Tyki Mikk (ティキ・ミック) represents the "Pleasure" of Noah. He is the younger brother of Cyril Kamelot and the uncle of Road Kamelot. The Earl once mentions that Tyki subconsciously suppresses his Noah. Tyki has two "sides" to his life, one in which he is a care-free, Portuguese vagabond and the other where he is a Noah and seemingly well-known in society. He enjoys living them both, but fears losing the human friends he has. After a failed attempt to exorcise the Noah from him is performed by Allen, the Noah consumes him. The holy marks, which have previously disappeared, are replaced by a single large one located at the base of his neck. His appearance transforms into that of a demonic knight and later, after his human form returns, a gray skin tone remains. Tyki has the ability to "choose" what he wants to touch, allowing him to walk on water or air and harmlessly passing through anything, with the exception of Innocence. He can also control Teez, a man-eating golem in the shape of a butterfly, a gift from the Earl.
Eliade (エリアーデ) is a level two Akuma. She was a beautiful woman as a human. She became obsessed with beauty and shopping. Although her beauty let her become a popular woman, her Akuma nature always makes her feel ugly. Even so, she feels incomplete and wants to love someone else. As an Akuma, she believed was impossible for her. After that, she meets Krory and was the only one to live with him in his castle. He later kills her after learning she was an Akuma. Before her death, Eliade says she wanted to love Arystar. She could produce bubbles that absorb all the water inside the victim's body.
